This is a unique vintage silver storage chest. The chest has a large storage capacity for hundreds of pieces of silverware. It has 2 louvered doors in the front which can be opened when the lid is lifted. Inside the doors is a slide-out tray for serving pieces or extra place setting pieces (see additional images). The inside of the lid has 12 knife slots and there are 10 slots in the main compartment for stacking silverware. The interior of the chest has a brown Pacific Silvercloth tarnish-resistant lining.
There is a brass plaque on the top of the chest for engraving and all other hardware such as hinges, knobs and side handles are brass. Measurements: 16 inches long x 12 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches tall. Very good condition.
